What does "TICK" mean?

Słowo TICK ma wiele znaczeń.  W słowniku znajdziemy między innymi : TICK -a regular short, sharp sound make by a clock; a check mark; make regular short sounds..
Czyli: tyknięcie, tykanie, wsypa poduszki, kredyt, chwilka, znak na liście, tykać, cykać, odfajkowac coś na liście. A teraz najważniejsze znaczenie TICK to także KLESZCZ czyli coś, co mnie wczoraj użarło... I HATE TICKS!

Birdwatching

Birdwatching lub birding  czyli podglądanie, czy też obserwowanie ptaków, to niezwykle popularne hobby wśród mieszkańców Wielkiej Brytanii i Stanów Zjednoczonych. Liczbę brytyjskich "ptasiarzy" szacuje się na kilka milionów, a amerykańskich nawet na kilkanaście.
Określenie birdwatcher pojawiło się  pod koniec XIX wieku, a słowa bird jako czasownika użyto po raz pierwszy w roku 1918.
Sama uważam się za ptasiarza. Oczywiście nie chce mi się włóczyć po lasach i bagnach, skoro można swoje hobby uprawiać w bardziej komfortowych warunkach. W dzisiejszych czasach najłatwiej być ptasiarzem internetowym. Jest to pasjonujące zajęcie. Codziennie obserwuję ptaki z różnych zakątków świata przez kamery internetowe

Garfield.

19 czerwca 1978 roku  "urodził się "Garfield - gruby, leniwy kot z komiksu pod tym samym tytułem. Garfield jest egoistą, lubi wylegować się przed telewizorem i jeść lasagne. Twórcą Garfielda jest amerykanski rysownik Jim  Davis, który nazwał kota na cześć swojego dziadka.

1 czerwca 1967 roku ukazał się ósmy album grupy The Beatles pod tytułem Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band czyli Orkiestra Klubu Samotnych Serc Sierżanta Pieprza. Na płycie znalazło się 13 piosenek. Autorami 12 z nich byli John Lennon i Paul McCartney a jedną skomponował George Harrison. 
W 2003 album znalazł się na pierwszym miejscu listy 500 albumów wszech czasów ogłoszonej przez  dwutygodnik "Rolling Stone"
