Now the Allerton Oak in Liverpool has been voted England’s tree of the year and Britain’s representative for a European-wide competition.
The 1,000-year-old oak in Calderstones park, Allerton, won 34% of the vote in the Woodland trust contest , beating other impressive trees, including a 200-year-old sycamore growing on the wall of Colchester castle and an oak with limbs like a triffid on the Isle of Wight.   https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2019/oct/23/liverpools-1000-year-old-oak-is-englands-tree-of-the-year

In the library she read pretty much everything she could get hold of and it was here that she developed her literary appetite. After studies in psychology at the University of Warsaw she made her debut as a fiction writer 1993 with Podróz ludzi Księgi (“The Journey of the Book-People”)......https://www.nobelprize.org/prizes/literature/2018/bio-bibliography/
