The end of school subjects.

Finnish officials want to remove school subjects from the curriculum. There will no longer be any classes in physics, math, literature, history, or geography.
The head of the Department of Education in Helsinki, Marjo Kyllonen, explained the changes:
“There are schools that are teaching in the old-fashioned way which was of benefit in the beginning of the 1900s — but the needs are not the same, and we need something fit for the 21st century.“
Instead of individual subjects, students will study events and phenomena in an interdisciplinary format. For example, the Second World War will be examined from the perspective of history, geography, and math. And by taking the course ”Working in a Cafe,” students will absorb a whole body of knowledge about the English language, economics, and communication skills.
It is a chilly morning in a remote village in southern Finland, but the thoughts of this class of 12-year-olds are elsewhere - in ancient Rome.
Their teacher is taking them through a video re-enactment - shown on the classroom's interactive smart board - of the day Mount Vesuvius erupted and destroyed the city of Pompeii.
In groups they take out their mini laptops. Their task is to compare ancient Rome with modern Finland. One group looks at Roman baths and today's luxury spas; another puts the Colosseum up against modern-day stadiums.

German 'SUPER' wasps.

A huge 'super wasp' which can repeatedly sting people could appear in your garden this summer.
The German or European wasp, which is roughly half an inch long, are larger than standard wasps and are recognisable from their three black spots on their faces.
Now experts have said the increased temperatures could lead to a rise in breeding from the yellowjacket wasps.

Best beaches in Europe.

Sezon wakacyjny się zbliża więc The Guardian zamieszcza listę najlepszych plaż Europy. Na liście znajdziecie plaże  Holandii, Albanii, Grecji, Francji, Portugalii, Hiszpanii i Włoch. Plaż bałtyckich BRAK.
Texel – an island in North Holland province – amazed us with its varied, rugged-to-manicured feel. It has about 20 miles of beaches on its western coast, many with activities and all safe for swimming, and there are cosy restaurants and cafes set against the extensive dune landscape. Behind the beaches there’s also a protected nature reserve, marshes and rock pools, a historic lighthouse with fabulous views, well-formed little towns and extensive cycle paths/hiking routes alongside very usable public transport. ,,,,

The 12 things you should NEVER let your dog eat.

If you own a dog, you will already be well aware that you should never feed them chocolate.
But this isn't the only dangerous substance they could get their paws in - there are dozens of others that pose equal danger to their health.
However, many of the pets are unnecessarily poisoned, which can have lethal side effects, due to the little knowledge surrounding such toxic foods.
So before you feed your beloved dog leftovers from your dinner, Emma Hammett, the founder of First Aid for Pets, reveals other products to avoid in a piece for The Hippocratic Post

Electronic bike.

Być może już wkrótce będziemy się poruszać po miescie takim pojazdem.

Inventors have created an electronic bike which is not only as light as as two newborn babies but folds up and fits in a backpack.
The Smacircle can reach speeds of 12.5mph (20km/h) and is controlled with a smartphone app.
The eBike folds up into a backpack in less than ten seconds, by which time it's no taller than 19 inches (49cm).  The bike weighs a little over 15lbs (7kg) and can accommodate riders of various sizes.
The first models have been made and tested, and its makers are seeking further investment with an upcoming Indiegogo campaign to bring it to the mainstream market.
Chinese designers believe it might change the way people commute to work.
