9 marca 1987 roku ukazał się album "The Joshua Tree" irlandzkiej grupy U2, który został sprzedany w ponad 16 milionach egzemplarzy.

Luther Burbank ( 1849 - 1926)

7 marca 1849 urodził się amerykański przyrodnik i ogrodnik Luther Burbank, który w ciągu 55 lat pracy wyhodował aż 800 gatunków i odmian roślin uprawnych.
Zawdzięczamy mu między innymi białą jeżynę, ziemniaki o brązowej skórce, bezkolcowego kaktusa, który może być wykorzystany jako pasza dla bydła, krzyżówkę śliwy i moreli, którą nazwał plumcot i wiele innych....

The field of botany has many great names and one of them is that of Luther Burbank. He is an America Botanist and horticulturist and just so happens to be one of the pioneers of agricultural science. Burbank was so brilliant that he managed to come up with an excess of 800 plant varieties and strains in all of his 55 years in the field. He came up with different fruit, grains, flowers, vegetables, and grass variations and also came up with a variety of cactus that didn’t have spines that is mostly used to feed cattle. He also came up with the “plumcot” which is what he got when he naturally crossed apricots and plums.

Naukowcy z Korei przeprowadzili badania na temat dobroczynnego wpływ kawy na nasz układ krwionośny:

Regular coffee drinkers have 'cleaner' arteries

Drinking a few cups of coffee a day may help people avoid clogged arteries - a known risk factor for heart disease - Korean researchers believe.

They studied more than 25,000 male and female employees who underwent routine health checks at their workplace.
Employees who drank a moderate amount of coffee - three to five cups a day - were less likely to have early signs of heart disease on their medical scans.
