Britain could be set for a white Easter after forecasters warned of snow falling for the rest of March - while the cold weather is unlikely to end soon.
Temperatures struggled to reach 4C (39F) across most of the UK yesterday and there is no sign of any major improvement over the next ten days.
Large swathes of the country are still on alert for snow and ice today, tomorrow and Saturday as a cold front sweeps in from the Atlantic.
And Met Office atmospheric scientists are predicting an imminent change in the polar jet stream known as a ‘sudden stratospheric warming’.
