A cow which staged an escape while being taken to a slaughterhouse has been living alone on an island.
When the slaughterhouse workers arrived to take away the cow, they were told it told it would be best to tranquilize the feisty bovine.
But they ignored the advice and as it came out of its shed to be loaded onto to the lorry. Instead it rammed a metal fence before making a dash for the nearby Lake Nysa, south Poland, Polish news show Wiadomosci reported
A farmworker ended up with a broken arm and bruised ribs during the escape, in which the cow was seem to dive underwater as it made its way to the island.
After a week of trying and failing to get the cow back, the farmer, known only as Mr Lukasz, gave up and began making sure it was fed enough food to stay alive
When firefighters used a boat to get to the island, the cow swam about 50 metres to a neighbouring peninsula.

Mam nadzieję, że poseł Paweł Kukiz dotrzyma słowa i uratuje życie dzielnej krowy.

Polish train driver.

Terrifying moment Polish train driver runs through carriages warning passengers they are about to smash into a lorry – before bracing for the collision

  • The driver dashes down the aisles shouting at the passengers, who brace
  • The lorry can be seen racing in to view before the train smashes into it
  • No one was badly injured, but broken glass ends up piled in the carriages

A train driver managed to save carriages full of people from being badly injured after he spotted a lorry on the tracks ahead, and risked his life to warn his passengers.
Incredible footage captures the moment he sped down the aisle warning passengers of the impending crash.
It also shows the point of impact, as the train smashes into the lorry which was straddling the tracks in Poland.

When loneliness is knocking on your door
Everything you loved just disappears
And when you feel that everything is lost
You need to know
There’s no life without tears

Tell me black or white
What colour is your life
Try to ask your heart
Who you really are....

European bisons.

http://www.lasy.gov.pl/informacje/kampanie_i_akcje/zubryonline

Conserving bison is not just about protecting a national symbol of Poland; it is linked to the survival of Europe's last primeval forest, the 8,000-year-old Bialowieza, which straddles the border with Belarus. Around 16% of the Polish part of the forest is a national park and home to about 470 of the animals.
The bison is Europe's heaviest land mammal, weighing up to 800kg. They are naturally shy – and experts want to keep it that way – but it is possible to see them.

Poland’s Independence Day.

Poland has been celebrating Independence Day since 1920. During and after the Second World War this was done clandestinely. In 1945, the National Independence Day was replaced by the Day of Rebirth of Poland on the anniversary of signing of PKWN Manifesto, celebrated on 22nd of July, which essentially introduced communist rule in the country. Independence Day was restored as a national holiday late as in 1989 after Poland’s political transformation.

The Republic of Ireland fell one goal short of automatic qualification for Euro 2016 as they lost to Poland and will now have to enter the play-offs.
Grzegorz Krychowiak had given the home side an early lead with a fine strike but Jon Walters quickly equalised with a controversially awarded penalty.
In-form Robert Lewandowski powerfully headed in what proved to be the deciding goal late in the first half.

Scotland do not fear Robert Lewandowski

Szkotom Lewandowski nie straszny. Nie boimy się go - twierdzą przed czwartkowym meczem - ale go szanujemy.
Scotland will not fear Poland striker Robert Lewandowski in Thursday's crucial Euro 2016 qualifier, says assistant manager Mark McGhee.
The Scots will be out if they lose but McGhee says they have no special plans to deal with Bayern Munich forward Lewandowski, who has scored 12 goals in his last four games.
"We have total respect for him, a fantastic player," said McGhee.
"But we have players in form as well, players who scored at the weekend."
Scotland could even go out with a win at Hampden, if the Republic of Ireland beat Germany in Dublin but then do not beat Poland in Warsaw on Sunday.

Nazi gold train.

A photo claiming to be a radar image of the Nazi gold train buried inside a tunnel in Poland has been leaked.
The image taken with ground-penetrating radar (GPR) appears to show a train with cannons possibly belonging to tanks sitting at a platform, according to local newspaper Gazeta Wroclawska.
The newspaper claimed that it was this image that was shown to authorities as proof it existed - and led the country's deputy culture minister to claim that he was '99 per cent sure' something was there.

Dust.

"Dust", czyli kurz, to tytul wystawy w Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej w Warszawie.

Dust is ubiquitous, it is everywhere and is everything, just as in a desert or in

the air of the cities. This meaning resonates most powerfully in the Arab and

Persian word “ghobar”. The Polish word “kurz” makes one think of the

everlasting work of eliminating dust and its constant recreation. The English

word “dust”, on the other hand, reflects a small particle on the verge of

visibility, a mental bit and non-material entity. There is something unpleasantly

real about it, and at the same time something absolutely essential, says the

exhibition curator Anna Ptak.

http://csw.art.pl/index.php?action=aktualnosci&s2=1&id=1266&lang=eng

dust - proch, kurz, pył, śmieci, zamieszanie, tumult, prochy, pyłek (kwiatowy),
zakurzyć, okryć/zasypać kurzem, posypywać pudrem, mąką, cukrem; ścierać kurze z czegoś, odkurzać, otrzepywać z kurzu....

ubiquitous - wszechobecny
