Eugene Polley (Eugene Theodore Polley; later changed to Eugene Joseph Polley), (born Nov. 29, 1915, Chicago, Ill.—died May 20, 2012, Downers Grove, Ill.), American inventor who created (1955) the first wireless television remote-control system, the light-activated Flash-Matic, while working in the engineering department at Zenith Radio Corp.
